The Jupiter Palladium

We here at The Jupiter Palladium feel honored to have fans that are so dedicated to our universe, after having spent so much time developing it. Even more surprisingly, we found that you guys were interested in developing your own characters! Since we’re all about collaboration, we love the idea of supplementing this world with your own characters and ideas. We’ve developed a lot of behind-the-scenes historical characters of our own, but when it comes to filling Port Jupiter with awesome superhumans, we would love to give some of that power and creativity over to you guys. Characters who have been featured in the comic will get their own mini bio on this page (with pictures, coming soon), so you can learn more about the awesome characters that your fellow readers have created.

If you’re interested in creating your own fan character, you’ll find everything you need right here! We accept a maximum of three submissions, and since it’s all on a rolling basis you can submit characters any time you want. Create a lot of different kinds of people: good guys, bad guys, middle-of-the-road guys…. There are a lot of people in PJ, and wherever there are places to show off one of your own creations, we would love to do so.

Leah

Bio
Blight is a middle-ranking member of the Port Jupiter Outcasts whose specialty is making people (especially men) disappear. She hates men due to their maltreatment of her mother, who sent her to the Outcasts in order to rid her of this rage (a strategy which failed completely).

Blight is blunt and straightforward, impatient, easily bored and tends to be obsessive. She is excellent at brute force, although she is far from suited to subtler lines of work such as espionage.

Jake

Bio
Jake is in a band called “Hope Dies Alone” and tends to use his powers more for his rock concerts than any other purpose, although he does work on a freelance basis, usually through the Port Jupiter Outcasts.

He is something of a joker, and especially enjoys putting hurricane winds into his high-fives, as well as creating lightning storms for his own amusement.

Jimmy

Bio
Jem was abandoned on the streets of Lowtown as a baby (his powers frightening his middle-class parents, worried about the stigma of raising a “mutant” child) where he was found and raised by the Outcasts. He grew up to be twitchy and impulsive, a quick-witted fan of black humo(u)r, although he is deeply loyal to his Outcast family.

He is almost entirely self-taught, training his fighting abilities by fighting his own duplicates. He is never without a switchblade, and (when the job calls for it) delights in terrorising others, the adrenaline rush he gets whilst fighting. He harbo(u)rs a deep resentment towards the upper classes, especially those whose powers have been accepted by their parents.

Carol

Bio
Carol is an administrative assistant who moonlights as an intelligence agent for the Port Jupiter Outcasts. She joined the Outcasts in her teens as a way of providing for herself and her mother, who struggled to survive. Even now that she has a stable, successful career, Carol has remained with the Outcasts out of a desire for power and loyalty to the pro-superhuman (to the point of being superhuman supremacist) cause.
Carol is good at masking how cruel and narcissistic she can be, so don’t let any outward kindness fool you: she’s smooth, manipulative, and excels in social games. She’s also a fairly strong superhuman thanks to years of honing her abilities, though her skills lie more in defense, stealth, and ranged attacks than anything else. While she may not hit very hard, she’s very hard to hit.

Bio
Brogan was born to a military family, and from an early age dreamed of entering the armed forces. However, she kindled in her early teens and suddenly had difficulty controlling her anger, causing her family to believe that she had a mood disorder that would make her unsuited for the armed forces. It wasn’t until she accidentally teleported that she realized she was probably a superhuman, reinforced by the connection she felt to the morning star when she first held one. She’s currently studying at Port Jupiter University while secretly training her abilities.
Brogan is a very stubborn, goal-driven individual, doggedly pursuing her desires until she achieves them. She’s very proud of her abilities, and sometimes underestimates people based off of their appearance. She’s also oddly competitive, and feels instinctive rivalry with anyone else who shares her skills out of a desire to be the best.

Mahkah

Bio
Mahkah is a member of Oglala Lakota, having grown up for most of his life in the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. His life suddenly became more complicated when he kindled in his late teens, as he had some difficulty controlling his abilties. Out of fear of frightening people, he tried to never use his abilities, but doing so made him feel restless and uncertain. As a result, he moved away from the country and traveled around the country after graduating from high school, trying to find a place to settle. He is currently living in Port Jupiter, working at the Children’s Zoo in Cypress Springs.
Mahkah is outwardly a very calm person, but his lack of control over his abilities makes him inwardly restless and gives him a severe case of wanderlust. He has mostly stayed true to his vow of never using his abilities, except for one instance two months ago when he used them to protect a young woman from being assaulted.

Elephant

Bio
Peter is a model high school student who is secretly a Reasoning Mental. He kindled a few years ago and, since then, his grades soared. He showed an unnatural aptitude for learning, absorbing information and picking up new skills with relative ease. This has drawn the ire of his classmates, who are simultaneously frightened by and jealous of his intelligence. He is the victim of a fair deal of bullying as a result, and has earned, among others, the unflattering nickname of “Elephant” due to his excellent memory.
While Peter realizes that his skills are probably non-Human, he tries to avoid the truth out of concern for how he’ll be seen. He already doesn’t have friends due to his intelligence, but if they knew it’s because he’s a superhuman, things could get even more complicated. As a result, he’s very shy about his skills, but simultaneously reveals them out of desire to simply share what he knows or show how to do things correctly.
